Mental Health Practitioner for Children and Young People

About the Role
NELFT North East London Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our team in South East Essex. As an Education Mental Health Practitioner/CWP, you will work in partnership with schools to support children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their families in the self-management of presenting difficulties.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work autonomously and responsibly within their scope of practice, alongside education colleagues. They will be experienced in delivering interventions to support children and young people in primary, secondary, and higher education settings.
The practitioner will complete robust assessments, risk assessments, care plans, and reviews. They will be proficient in using Routine Outcome Measures (ROMS) and clinical tools to gather feedback and guide clinical practice, with opportunities for service provision planning and mapping with schools to inform the delivery of support to children and young people.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a qualification in Education Mental Health Practitioner or Children Wellbeing Practitioner and be registered with either the BABCP or BPS as a low-intensity practitioner. They will also have experience of delivering specific therapeutic interventions to children, young people, or their families, as well as the ability to conduct mental health assessments, risk assessments, and communicate appropriately with children, young people, and parents.
Working with NELFT
NELFT places a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, which will include mandatory training, systems training, and the allocation of equipment.
Base
This post requires the successful applicant to work agilely between NELFT sites and educational settings. For applicants to have the ability to work independently is an important factor. Some travel around the county is also expected. The nominated base for South East Essex is The Skyline Plaza in Southend.
