Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert copy editing and proofreading services to ensure accuracy and consistency in all publications.
  • Develop and maintain the Scottish Government's style guide and glossary, ensuring they are up-to-date and relevant.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide editorial advice and support on research reports, policies, and other written content.
  • Assist in the production of designed or printed materials, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and accessibility.
  • Line manage staff as required, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in editing, writing, and proofreading to a high standard, with a strong understanding of house style, accessibility, and clear writing principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results under pressure.
