We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Reporting Accountant to join our Group Sustainability Reporting team at M&G plc. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality sustainability reporting that meets the evolving needs of our stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Analysis and Reporting: Support the Sustainability reporting project lead in the technical analysis of our external sustainability reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and frameworks.
- ESG Disclosure Management: Support or lead the delivery of specific ESG disclosure requirements, with a particular focus on ISSB and CSRD, and work collaboratively with subject matter experts to design ESG disclosures for inclusion in external reporting documents.
- Governance Support: Produce papers required for governance forums to support the approval and publication of ESG disclosures, and coordinate responses to auditor queries in relation to ESG disclosures.
- Control Environment: Take personal accountability to maintaining and enhancing controls to support the improvement of the overall control environment.
- Staying Up-to-Date: Keep abreast of developments in the ESG disclosure space to ensure all disclosures are in line with latest requirements of various regulatory bodies and emerging best practice.
- Qualifications and Experience: Qualified Accountant with an interest in the development of sustainability reporting, and experience of production and delivery of disclosures in a financial services organization or experience of auditing such disclosures.
- Knowledge and Skills: Some knowledge of TCFD, SFDR, or other ESG reporting frameworks, and good networks/links with external bodies and individuals in the same field.
- Personal and Technical Skills: Proactive self-starter who takes ownership, and has a strong track record for delivery, ability to communicate effectively and influence effectively with productive, successful relationships with demanding senior stakeholders, and ability to apply logic and problem-solving to complex accounting problems.
