We are seeking a skilled Counsellor Specialist to join our team at the NHS. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist psychological assessments and interventions to patients with palliative care needs.
The Counsellor Specialist will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring the highest standards of care and support for patients and their families.
The role will involve providing one-to-one counselling, group therapy, and education to patients, families, and carers, as well as participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and contributing to the development of the hospice's education programme.
The Counsellor Specialist will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and comprehensive clinical records, adhering to the highest standards of confidentiality and data protection.
We are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate Counsellor Specialist who is committed to delivering high-quality care and support to patients and their families.
Key Skills and Qualifications- Accreditation with a counselling profession (BPS, BACP, etc)
- Degree and professional qualification in counselling/psychology, or equivalent experience
- Significant counselling experience using a range of psychological techniques
- Experience in providing counselling/psychological therapy supervision
- Knowledge and understanding of CQC requirements
- Flexible approach to work and changing priorities
- Ability to travel efficiently and effectively to various locations within the hospice catchment area
- Working knowledge of IT Microsoft word, excel, Outlook email and database entry systems
