About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer to join our team at SYSTRA. As a key member of our highway design team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality projects and contributing to the growth and success of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist and support the Infrastructure Director for the South of England and Associate Director in the delivery of projects.
  • Work closely with private and public sector clients to understand their needs and deliver projects that meet their expectations.
  • Lead and manage dynamic teams to deliver high-quality projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex highway design challenges.
  • Collaborate with other design teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and deliverables to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Take commercial responsibility for projects and ensure successful delivery to time, cost, quality, and other contractual requirements.
Requirements
  • At least 7 years' experience in highway design and engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering highway and drainage design projects, including S278/38 Approval process.
  • Good knowledge and experience of DMRB, MCHW, MfS, TSM, Local Authority guides, and their applications.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to represent the company externally at a senior level.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of design teams and project stakeholders.
  • Experience in project management, with a good understanding of financial and commercial aspects of projects.
  • Chartered status (ICE or CIHT) or working towards Professional Qualification in Civil Engineering.
