Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Telecommunications Software Engineer to join our Intelligent Gateway lab in Manchester.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with telephony platforms and cloud technologies, such as Google Cloud platform (GCP).

You will be responsible for further building, maintaining, and developing the bank's telephony channel using agile methodologies and frameworks like Spring.

This role involves guiding and implementing technical solutions, monitoring code quality using SonarQube, and collaborating with a team of software engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain software components using Java and relevant frameworks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement microservices architecture
  • Implement DevOps practices to ensure efficient deployment and monitoring of applications

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of software engineering principles, including testing, testing frameworks, and continuous integration.

Additionally, experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud deployment, and API design would be beneficial.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, preferably in a financial institution
  • Strong knowledge of Java, Spring, and relevant frameworks
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines
