About the Year in Industry:
This position is specifically created for university students undertaking a 12-month placement, who will join our Conventional Safety Team.
The role sits within our Environment, Safety & Health (ESH) Function, responsible for implementing our Safety Management System and driving continuous environmental improvements.
The role will provide a diverse experience, involving risk assessments, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, and driving safety improvements within operational areas.
As a Safety Specialist, you'll work alongside other safety professionals, interfacing with facility operators and project managers as part of an integrated team.
The role is designed to help you:
- Develop an understanding of our Management System and gain practical experience in operational areas.
- Gain experience of Risk Assessment and risk-based inspections in line with relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Gain practical experience in delivering safety initiatives.
- Gain experience in using relevant assessment tools.
- Develop an understanding of key pieces of health and safety legislation applicable to us.
