We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer - Metrology to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Calibration department, you will be responsible for leading the dimensional calibration team and ensuring the accuracy and precision of our measurement equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to team leadership and management, including people management, resource allocation, and workflow management.
- Perform high-end calibrations and repairs on a wide range of dimensional test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).
- Design, review, and approve calibration procedures and measurement uncertainty budgets.
- Take part in quality audits, achieving UKAS signatory status.
- Drive the increase in issue of UKAS/ISO 17025 accredited parameters and certification.
- Extensive experience working in a precision dimensional calibration/metrology laboratory environment.
- Understanding of quality systems and standards (ISO 17025/ISO 9001).
- Relevant academic qualification (STEM degree, HNC/HND) or equivalent.
