We're pleased to announce that this position comes with a competitive salary of £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience. Job DescriptionThis is a fantastic chance to join our Technology team as a Head of Software Engineering. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for defining, implementing, and continually improving SThree's enterprise systems. Your focus will be on developing and maintaining software construction, configuration, and re-factoring standards, policies, methods, procedures, and guidelines.
- You will work closely with our management team to develop a costed and prioritised programme of systems development, ensuring that it aligns with business strategies and objectives.
- Your responsibilities will include overseeing the resourcing of the agreed programme of systems development, taking full responsibility for the provision of IT resources.
- You will be accountable for managing existing software process improvement approaches and/or developing new approaches to achieve improvement.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A strong technical or functional understanding of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications and/or other bespoke software.
- Experience with testing techniques and tools used to plan and execute software tests of all application components (functional and non-functional).
- A solid understanding of different development approaches, including iterative/incremental or traditional sequential methodologies.
- Educated to bachelor's degree level, with relevant professional qualification and/or at least 7 years' experience in Software Engineering, solution design, product development.
- Professional certification within relevant areas, such as BCS International Diploma in Solution Development or Chartered IT Professional (CITP) BCS - The Chartered Institute for IT.
