Job Summary
A clinical healthcare specialist is required to work within the Neurodevelopment Assessment Team for Teesside. This team assesses children and young people aged 5 - 18 years old for ASD, working closely with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatry, nursing, support workers, admin staff, and psychologists.

Main Responsibilities
The post holder will assess children and young people to identify language concerns and ASD traits, working collaboratively with the wider MDT to assist with diagnostic outcomes. They will also be responsible for keeping up-to-date with mandatory training and providing effective teaching, training, and clinical supervision. Additionally, they will use multimedia materials for presentations in professional settings and apply the latest research evidence and evaluative thinking in practice.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Speech and Language Therapy, including experience working with service users in mental health or learning disabilities with complex needs. They must be able to communicate complex and sensitive information effectively and possess strong manual dexterity to enable competent hand signing. A degree in Speech and Language Therapy and registration with HCPC are also essential. The estimated salary for this position is £35,000-£40,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
