Manufacturing Engineering Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the investigation and resolution of problems that arise during production.
- Continuously improve understanding of quality and productivity concepts to enhance overall performance.
- Develop and implement risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment.
- Support the creation and maintenance of permits to work.
- Participate in changeovers on equipment in ultra-clean areas, adhering to safety protocols.
- Lead the implementation of PPI methodology at the individual and team levels.
- Practice operational discipline and demonstrate agile leadership as a team.
- Contribute to site projects, applying engineering expertise to find innovative solutions.
Requirements:
- Engineering modern apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum HNC qualification in engineering.
- 5 years of experience post-HNC, with a focus on multi-skilled roles (Elec/Mech).
- Experience in implementing change, process improvement, and cost reduction.
- Ability to work in ISO 5 and ISO 7 clean rooms, wearing personal respirator hood PPE.
- Responsibility for PMs, calibrations, and servicing on key equipment.
- Supervision of contractors, FSE, and service providers.
- Planning of personal work requirements.
- Embracing a 'minimise downtime, increase availability' mindset for automation breakdowns.
- Understanding and safe use of workshop tools (hand tools/automatic tools).
- Ability to become proficient in Life Science instruments, including Genetic analysers, qPCR, PCR, RNA/DNA extractors, and DNA synthesis.
- Understanding and use of CMMS (computerised maintenance management system).
- Routine maintenance of associated laboratory, manufacturing, and workshop equipment.
- Completing documentation to GDP standards.
- Maintenance activities within the clean room environment.
- Supporting and aligning with the Company's safety and hazardous waste management program.
Desirable Skills:
- Adherence to EHS policies and procedures.
- Experience working in an ISO13485 certified environment.
- PLC experience.
- Robotics and automation experience.
- Pneumatic knowledge and experience.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Able to manage workload independently within scope of activities agreed with Supervisor.
- Flexible approach to work and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work well alone and as a team.
- Ability to adopt SCRUM methodology and utilise as a planning/scheduling tool.
- Ability to prioritise and work under pressure with strict attention to timelines and details.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage and contribute to CI-based projects.
