Senior Design Engineer

Morson Talent is currently working with one of the UK's largest Water Companies to find a Senior Design Engineer to ensure the successful delivery of Capital Programmes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with multiple stakeholders to understand the root cause of business problems.
  • Agree design assessment and completion milestones with Project Managers.
  • Support Project Managers to define contractual outputs for successful delivery.
  • Collect and validate data to define problems.
  • Appraise and validate conceptual designs to create innovative and efficient TOTEX solutions.
  • Undertake early pro-active risk management and maintain risk registers throughout the design process.
  • Act as Principle Designer and discharge duties as a client in accordance with CDM regulations.
  • Ensure Health and Safety are integrated into the design lifecycle.
  • Review potential delivery and operational risks.
  • Contribute to commissioning plan development.
  • Determine the appropriate solution and provide input to relevant papers and governance forums.
  • Approve designs from internal or external designers.
  • Ensure the delivery of appropriate designs and specifications.
  • Review and benefit appraise delivered solutions.
Requirements:
  • Desirable: Water sector experience or similar.
  • Desirable: Treatment Process understanding.
  • Desirable: Experience of undertaking the role of Principle Designer.
  • Desirable: Extensive experience of providing designs and specifications for commercial negotiations.
  • Desirable: Proven innovation of design to assist with the development of innovative solutions.
  • Desirable: Experience of working to standards, codes, and practices.
  • Desirable: Evidence of coaching skills and building capability within the Design team.
  • Desirable: Extensive experience of implementing CDM regulations in design processes.
  • Desirable: Extensive experience of working closely with supply chain in delivering projects.
  • Desirable: Demonstrated experience of risk management in construction and ops design.
