Job Title: Driver

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Driver to join our team at Compass Group UK&I. As a Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our services, providing a high standard of quality work and contributing to the success of our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in a team of drivers supplying a service to local health service premises, effectively communicating with patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.
  • Observe all regulations governing the driving and use of vehicles on the public highway, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle at all times.
  • Undertake daily checks to ensure the vehicle is in good running order, reporting any defects or accidents immediately.
  • Sort and deliver mail, collect and deliver specimens, blood, pharmacy, food, CSSD, and other items required, prioritizing urgent requests and working to pre-set schedules.
  • Communicate caringly with terminally ill, physically handicapped, and recently bereaved people in their own homes, representing and promoting the professional image of the Trust.
  • Deliver, erect, and install expensive and delicate equipment in patients' homes, demonstrating how to use it, including bath hoists and medical devices.
Requirements:
  • A full clean UK driving licence (provisional licence not accepted)
  • Passionate about customer care, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.
  • Able to work under pressure, individually and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the business.
  • Confident working in a hospital environment, aware of the need to meet patients who are particularly unwell or showing signs of distress.
  • A can-do attitude, with a willingness to learn and go the extra mile for our customers.
