Job Title: Healthcare Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. As a key member of our Acute Medical Unit, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will work under the supervision of registered healthcare professionals to provide clinical care for patients. Your duties will include assisting with patient care, maintaining personal hygiene, and providing physical comfort. You will also be responsible for serving meals, assisting with cleaning tasks, and recording information in the patient administration system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide care for patients, maintaining their personal hygiene and dignity
  • Assist with physical comfort, ensuring patients' privacy and dignity are maintained
  • Wash and dress patients, and help them safely move around
  • Work directly with patients requiring close observation, providing emotional and psychological support
  • Serve meals and assist with feeding
  • Assist with cleaning tasks and making beds
  • Record information in the patient administration system and assist with administrative duties
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent patient care skills, be able to work as part of a team, and demonstrate confidentiality and trustworthiness. You will also need to be motivated to meet patients' needs and be willing to be flexible and part of a team.
