Job Summary

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for managing and undertaking the compilation of estimates and other detailed costing information as part of the Commercial function.

  • Lead and support estimating, pricing and tendering activities across a wide range of programmes and bid activities.
  • Manage and advise on cost and pricing inputs for the LCM and RBA processes.
  • Develop parametric models to advise business on costs for new business and also 'should cost' data to enable business decisions.
  • Manage the costing of Contract Modification / Change Proposals.
  • Manage and advise man-hour budgeting.
  • Manage the development of bills of materials, quantities and norms etc.
  • Manage and develop customer relationships both internal and external.
  • Identify and interpret customer requirements, both Technical and Commercial.
  • Provide advice to the business on estimating / pricing / contract terms / inflation and variation of price issues as they relate to bidding and performing contracts.
  • Implement procedures and controls within the specified area to ensure compliance with commercial policies.
  • Manage and resolve customer queries and issues in areas of responsibility.
  • Carry out pricing forecasts and analysis to be able to propose cash flow requirements and options.
  • Manage the implementation of new systems/processes in relevant areas ensuring uniformity of processes across the whole of cost engineering.
Key Responsibilities

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for:

  • Leading and supporting estimating, pricing, and tendering activities.
  • Managing cost and pricing inputs for LCM and RBA processes.
  • Developing parametric models to advise on costs and business decisions.
  • Managing contract modification and change proposals.
  • Advising on man-hour budgeting and customer relationships.
