Nuclear Legacy Clean-up Initiative:
Our client is a public body responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient clean-up of the UK's nuclear legacy. They are seeking an experienced Principal Design Engineer to lead the delivery of engineering design tasks or projects related to Radioactive Material (RAM) transport systems. The successful candidate will have significant experience in managing engineering design projects, including team leadership and collaboration with stakeholders. Key responsibilities include defining project scope, developing technical risk identification and mitigation strategies, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, such as IAEA SSR-6. Additional responsibilities include communicating complex technical information to stakeholders and fostering effective working relationships with colleagues, vendors, and clients to achieve project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and coordinate the delivery of engineering design projects related to RAM transport systems.
• Develop and implement technical risk identification and mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope and develop technical requirements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, such as IAEA SSR-6, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes.
• Communicate complex technical information to stakeholders, both within and outside the company.
• Foster effective working relationships with colleagues, vendors, and clients to achieve project objectives.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably mechanical engineering) or equivalent experience.
• Professional engineering certification (e.g., CEng, PE).
• Proven experience in managing engineering design projects, including team leadership and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong technical skills in engineering design, with a focus on RAM transport systems.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Experience working in a regulated environment, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements (IAEA SSR-6).

Location: Warrington, UK

Duration: 6 months contract basis

Salary: £92,000 per annum.
