About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Category Manager to join our Corporate Procurement Team at SSE. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the Fleet, Plant, Fuel & Travel spend category, driving efficiency and effectiveness across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a category strategy to drive cost savings and improve supplier relationships
  • Manage a significant and disparate level of spend to ensure compliance, drive efficiencies, mitigate risk and drive down the total cost of ownership
  • Lead strategic, regulated & unregulated sourcing projects, including strategy development, supplier negotiation, award recommendations, business case presentations and supplier contract execution
  • Develop strong relationships across the SSE Group by identifying and influencing key stakeholders and proactively building strategic relationships with our critical suppliers to drive innovation and maximise savings opportunities
