HGV Workshop Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HGV Workshop Supervisor to join our team at Sprint Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our workshop team, you will be responsible for managing a team of commercial vehicle fitters and technicians, ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance and repair of HGVs and plant equipment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of commercial vehicle fitters and technicians
- Work closely with the Operations Director and support team as needed
- Perform MOTs and vehicle PMI inspections
- Routine maintenance and repairs
- Lead by example and manage a team while promoting company values
- Liaise with staff to manage daily planning of vehicles in the workshop
- Assist with service and repair of commercial vehicles
- Parts ordering and stock control
- Work closely with the Director to implement improvements and grow the business
- Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to at all times
- Monitor utilisation, productivity, and idle time to ensure internal KPIs are met
- Maintain relationships with key suppliers
- Review, coach, and develop the team
- Deal with customer queries
- Authorise time sheets, overtime, and holidays
Requirements:
- Brilliant leadership skills
- Full clean driving licence (Class 1 or 2 licence advantageous)
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Clear vision in achieving business goals
- Ability to motivate and inspire team members to exceed targets
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and customers
- Semi-productive on tools
- IT literacy
- Loyal, hardworking, and committed
- Interest in the role and the company
- Previous experience as an HGV/Heavy Vehicle/Plant/Construction Vehicle/Agricultural Technician
- A level 3 NVQ desirable
- Methodical approach to work
- Good time management
- Ability to perform well under pressure
