Certification and Airworthiness Expertise

We are seeking a highly skilled Certification and Airworthiness Expert to join our team at Onyx-Conseil. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing airworthiness and certification expertise to support the approval of changes and in-service support.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Provide certification expertise and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with airworthiness and certification requirements.
  2. Define, progress, and facilitate test and analysis to verify compliance with relevant certification specifications.
  3. Attend design and project meetings to provide airworthiness and certification inputs and progress reports.
  4. Facilitate compliance verification and design approval of completed changes.
  5. Review reported failures, malfunctions, and defects that may affect airworthiness and determine necessary action.
  6. Maintain technical competency and currency to be effective in the role.
  7. Help develop competency of other team members as required.
Requirements
Essential
  1. Suitably qualified and experienced person to deliver airworthiness and certification deliverables.
  • Working knowledge of FAR/JAR/CS 27 and 29 Certification Specifications.
  • Working knowledge of CAA IR 21J DOA and MAA DAOS process and practices.
  • Sound understanding of Aircraft System and Software Safety Analysis processes.
  • A good aviation background based in the Engineering discipline.
  • Broad engineering knowledge of aircraft airframe, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Good working knowledge and well-practiced in compliance findings with certification codes.
  • Equipment qualification processes and related standards (Civil and/or equivalent Military Requirements).
  • Computer literate in MS Office & Google desktop applications.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize workload in a dynamic business environment.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to assess evidence and develop conclusions based on that evidence in a logical and structured fashion.
Education, Qualifications, Special Training
  1. Aeronautical or equivalent Degree, or;
  2. Equivalent experience with another professional qualification may be considered, or;
  3. Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent training.
Personality Requirements
Essential
  1. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to communicate and negotiate internally and externally at all levels.
  2. Commercially aware.
  3. Team player with the ability to work effectively under pressure on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  4. Ability to work in a team environment and being able to fulfill the role required by the team even when that role may vary from project to project.
  5. Well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to assess evidence and develop conclusions based on that evidence in a logical and structured fashion.
  6. A self-motivated, reliable individual, with a diligent yet flexible approach, employing high standards and the means to prioritize work for best effect.
Experience
Essential
  1. Minimum of 5 years industry-related experience in aircraft/rotorcraft.
  2. Design integration experience.
  3. A proven track record of technical knowledge.
Desirable
  1. Experience of design for rotorcraft is an advantage.
  2. Experience of system integration for rotorcraft an advantage.
  3. Military experience an advantage.
