P&S Personnel is currently seeking a highly skilled Electronics Systems Specialist to join their team based in Norwich on a full-time, permanent basis. The estimated salary for this role is £40,000 - £60,000 per annum.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on-site at customer locations, both in the UK and abroad, either independently or leading a small team. This includes installing, commissioning, and testing company-designed systems utilizing electronic, digital, and electromechanical skills.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Carrying out installation, commissioning, repair, service, and training of company-designed systems and submarine navigation plotting tables.
  • Conducting live testing of systems to ensure accurate fault diagnosis once trained and deemed competent.
  • Coordinating with Project Managers and Customer Support Manager to ensure effective delivery of service to customers at their sites.
  • Producing complete, accurate, and timely reports.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers while delivering high standards of work and customer service.
  • Adhering to health and safety practices and procedures.
  • Constructing, conducting, and instructing training courses within the factory and at customer locations.
  • Attending Sea Trials for periods of time at sea, adhering to shipping routines.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree/HND/HNC/ONC in Electronic Engineering.
  • Proven and demonstrable field service experience.
  • Technical knowledge of diagnosing and repairing digital, electronic, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment.
  • Able to read complex wiring diagrams and devise workable fault diagnosis instructions.
  • Physically fit to Eng 1 standard and capable of passing Sea Survival course.
  • High level of computer literacy including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Full Driving Licence to drive in the UK and abroad.
  • UK Valid passport with no travel restrictions.
  • Qualifications in weapons inspection, repair, and servicing (desirable).
  • Experience of compiling and delivering training courses (desirable).
  • Previous customer-facing Service Engineer role (desirable).

  • Resourceful, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible and able to adapt quickly to changing schedules.
  • Reside within a daily commutable distance of Norwich.
  • Drive and willingness to learn and develop.
  • Physically fit to work in harsh environments in the UK and overseas.
  • Work inclusively in a small close-knit team, sharing knowledge and information is critical to the success of first-time diagnosis of customer equipment failures.
