About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team as an apprentice. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for producing high-quality components using hand fitting techniques, repair and refurbishment of mechanical assemblies, and preparing and using lathes and milling machines.

Our ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, good organisation and time-keeping skills, and a good understanding of the importance of health and safety. You will also need to be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mechanical engineering processes and to develop your skills in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing components using hand fitting techniques
  • Repair and refurbishment of mechanical assemblies
  • Preparing and using lathes for turning operations
  • Preparing and using milling machines
  • Dynamic balancing and laser alignments
  • Attending lectures, practical workshops, and visits as per training provider learning plan

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to have a good understanding of mechanical engineering principles and a strong ability to work with your hands. You will also need to have good communication and teamwork skills and a good understanding of health and safety procedures.

  • GCSE English language C or 4 or above
  • GCSE Maths C or 4 or above
