Job Title: Early Years Lead Practitioner

At Inspired Education Group, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Early Years Lead Practitioner to join our team at Davenport Lodge Nursery School. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our young students and ensuring they receive a world-class learning environment.

Job Summary:

The Early Years Lead Practitioner will be responsible for overseeing the quality of early education for children in the nursery, effectively delivering the group's high educational standards. This role will focus on promoting teaching and learning to ensure children progress in their development and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for the delivery of high-quality inclusive early education, responsive to the needs of children and their families.
  • Lead practice within the classroom, establishing a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment through the provision of appropriate resources.
  • Monitor systems of assessment, recording, and reporting on children's progress in development and learning.
  • Ensure practitioners understand the principles and content of the Early Years Foundation Stage and know how to put them into practice.
  • Influence and shape policies and practices of the setting, sharing collective responsibility for their implementation.
  • Ensure service delivery is maintained within current legislative requirements, including Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements, Health and Safety, and Safeguarding and the Learning and Development Requirements.
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members, providing formal and informal opportunities to share information about children's well-being, development, and learning.
  • Contribute to the work of a multi-professional team, coordinating and implementing agreed programs and interventions as needed.
  • Work in partnership with specialist agencies or professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of all children, identifying child or family support needs as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Hold EYTS or a graduate early years' qualification, with specific experience in the foundation stage age group.
  • Extensive experience working with young children, particularly 2–5-year-olds.
  • Experience leading teams in delivering high-quality early education.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the EYFS, Ofsted Education Inspection Framework, and relevant current legislation.
  • Good understanding of the developmental needs of young children, 2- to 5-year-olds.
  • Good understanding of what constitutes a quality early education environment.
