About the Role

We are seeking a talented Secondary Science Educator to join our team in Welwyn. As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging lesson plans for various science subjects, fostering a love for the subject among students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Utilize hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and interactive teaching methods to enhance the learning experience.
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate cross-disciplinary concepts and enhance the science curriculum.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
  • A qualification in Science or experience teaching the subject.
  • At least 2 years of experience teaching secondary students.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Good knowledge of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • The ability to teach Science up to A-level standard.
  • A child-only enhanced DBS (or prepared to apply for one).
  • Full-time availability.
