Job Overview

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated medical professional to join our team as a Registrar in Diabetes/Endocrinology/General Medicine. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates to gain valuable experience in general medicine, diabetes, and endocrinology, with the potential to progress to a specialist registrar scheme.

Main Responsibilities

As a Registrar, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing high-quality patient care in acute medicine, general medicine, diabetes, and endocrinology
  • Participating in ward rounds, clinics, and other medical activities
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with senior colleagues
  • Contributing to the development of medical policies and procedures

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Broad general medical experience at post-Foundation level or equivalent (2 years minimum)
  • Part 2 (written) MRCP
  • Experience of working in the NHS
  • ALS Certificate

Skills and Ability

You will need to possess:

  • Practical skills in common medical procedures, including lumbar puncture, pleural fluid aspiration, abdominal paracentesis, and familiarity with management of acute medical emergencies
  • Ability to refer to and liaise with senior colleagues in HDU/ITU

  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • IT skills required for the post
