Join Grant Thornton LLP, a global network of independent audit, tax and advisory firms, as a Public Sector Audit School Leaver Programme trainee. As a member of our team, you'll work with clients across the UK, including NHS trusts, Fire Authorities, and Local Councils, to provide assurance over their use of resources and financial accounts.

What You'll Do
  1. Gain hands-on experience in audit, working with a variety of clients and projects, including state-of-the-art data analytics tools and techniques.
  2. Develop a strong understanding of the public sector landscape and the challenges faced by our clients.
  3. Work closely with colleagues to provide robust challenge and market-leading insights to help clients meet their regulatory needs and business objectives.
  4. Take ownership of interesting and challenging client work early in your career.
  5. Develop a strong internal and external network to learn from.
  6. Spend time going out to work at client sites.

In your first two years, you'll work towards completing the CFAB (Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business) qualification, moving on to become ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant) qualified over the next three years.

How We Work

Our teams work between our offices, client sites, and at their homes, with trainees also attending college as required. In-person working is important, helping you learn more about the firm and the work we do, as well as building relationships and connections with your peers.

Study and Development

You'll need to be focused, committed, and organised as a trainee, balancing your study and work requirements. You'll be provided with study leave to help you complete your professional qualification, but you'll also need to study in your spare time outside of working hours.
