Salary: – £47,683 – £52,426 (Commensurate with skills and experience)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Synthetic Training Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining real-time simulation software to support the training of fast jet aircrew for UK and overseas customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, integrate, and test simulation models of airborne subsystems
  • Define, derive, and maintain requirements using DOORS
  • Define, derive, and maintain the simulator design using modelling based design tools such as ARTiSAN
  • Estimate timescales and work to them, providing regular feedback of progress and achievement with backlog work planned in JIRA

Requirements:

  • A degree in Software/Computing, STEM subject, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience of software development covering programming in various languages such as C#, C/C++, Java, ADA, Visual Basic
  • Knowledge/experience of airborne subsystems (Typhoon specific subsystems desirable)
  • Knowledge of software design patterns and principles
  • Experience of the software engineering lifecycle, including Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge/experience of using configuration management and continuous integration/deployment tools
