Flannery Plant Hire is a leading provider of plant hire services in the UK. We are currently seeking a skilled Mobile Plant Fitter and Welder to join our team at our Birmingham depot.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of plant equipment, including hydraulic excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, and dozers. This will involve carrying out routine maintenance tasks, as well as performing repairs and welding as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and repair of fixed plant and equipment at our depot
  • Assisting with the safe operation of the work area and customer sites
  • Carrying out mechanical repairs and maintenance duties assigned by the Workshop Supervisor
  • Liaising with outside contract fitting staff
  • Complying with delegated responsibilities in the areas of Safety, Health, and Welfare

Requirements:

  • 2 years post-qualification experience working as a mobile plant fitter
  • Experience and competency in fault-finding, maintenance, and repair of heavy-duty construction plant
  • Knowledge and awareness of Health, Safety, and Welfare practice and legislation
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Must have own tools
