About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Apprentice Network Engineer to join our team at Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to develop their skills and knowledge in wastewater service delivery while working within a high-performance team.

As a key member of our operations team, you will assist the Network Manager in achieving regulatory performance targets and ensuring network assets are managed within budget. You will be proactive in resolving customer-related issues, such as flooding, pollution, and blockages, while positively representing Welsh Water. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Resolving customer-related issues with regards to the sewerage network, taking ownership and resolving to a satisfactory conclusion.
  • Assisting the Network Manager in reviewing the departmental budget, workload, and manpower requirements.
  • Liaising with asset strategy, local asset management, and capital delivery teams to ensure risks are identified, understood, and solutions developed.
  • Assisting the Network Manager with external stakeholders to develop and maintain strong regulatory relationships.
  • Ensuring all activities are carried out in line with health and safety policies and procedures.


About You

To succeed in this role, you should have a minimum HNC qualification in Civil Engineering or be working towards it. You must also possess a full and valid driving license and have experience gained through understanding of wastewater service delivery working within high-performance teams. Additionally, you should be able to think strategically while ensuring effective day-to-day delivery of services. Our ideal candidate will be computer literate, with experience of Windows applications and SAP, and have excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
