About the Role

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join our Outpatient Department. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional patient support and care, ensuring a positive experience for all individuals accessing our services.
  • Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe and effective care.
  • Support the day-to-day running of outpatient clinics, including preparing rooms, stocking supplies, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Undertake Point of Care Testing (POCT) as required, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
  • Act as a chaperone for patients during appointments, providing emotional support and reassurance.
  • Refer complex enquiries to the Nurse in Charge, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvement initiatives, enhancing the overall patient experience.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of patient care principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
