Young Offender Education Support Specialist

Milk Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide educational support to young people aged 11-17 in a Pupil Referral Unit setting in Manchester.

About the Role
  • The Young Offender Education Support Specialist will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide guidance and support to young people, helping them to access education and overcome disengagement.
  • This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and who have experienced trauma.
About the School
  • The Young Offender Education Support Specialist will be based in a Pupil Referral Unit school setting in Manchester, working with young people to develop their social and emotional skills, as well as providing academic support in the classroom.
  • The role will involve working with young people to develop their social and emotional skills, as well as providing academic support in the classroom.
  • The working hours are 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with opportunities for the role to become permanent after a qualifying period.
Requirements
  • Resilience and the ability to work with young people who have experienced trauma.
  • Empathy and understanding of Social, Emotional and Mental Health Issues.
  • A passion for changing young people's lives for the better.
