Electrical Technician Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our client's fuel storage and operations team. As an Electrical Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems vital to their fuel storage infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver planned and corrective maintenance and inspection tasks at allocated sites, adhering to set targets and maintaining computerised maintenance management systems and plant history files.
  • Act as an Authorised Electrical Person, authorising HV working and providing operational support as required.
  • Respond to emergency situations, dealing with emergency authorities and statutory bodies.
  • Identify spare equipment, components, and materials to ensure critical plant and equipment can be sustained in the event of foreseeable breakdowns.
  • Obtain quotations and raise orders for goods and services required for maintenance and inspection responsibilities.
  • Supervise colleagues and contractors in safe systems of work, including risk assessment and gas testing procedures.
  • Provide on-the-job training and support to new staff and subordinates.
  • Identify and prepare work scopes and justifications for engineering project works to enhance, modify, or replace existing plant and equipment.
  • Act as a focal point for engineering projects, contributing to design and installation works to ensure projects are planned and completed with due regard to requirements for safety and operations.
  • Deputise for the Electrical Supervisor during periods of absence.
Requirements:
  • ONC level electrical qualification and experience of working in an industrial electrical maintenance environment.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.
  • Experience of supervising staff and contractors completing electrical maintenance and installation work in an industrial environment.
  • Recent experience of completing 'hands-on' maintenance and fault finding on electrical plant and equipment.
  • Full driving licence.
Desirable:
  • Experience of maintenance and fault finding on control and instrumentation systems, including PLC's.
  • CompEx qualification for hazardous area equipment.
  • Experience in a supervisory maintenance role within the oil and gas or similar industry.
