About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Hoare Lea. As a key member of our engineering consultancy, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical design services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement electrical design solutions for a variety of projects, including large-scale commercial and industrial developments.
- Work closely with project leaders and other team members to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored design solutions.
- Lead electrical services design on large projects and oversee overall MEP on small to medium-sized projects.
- Manage and prioritize the workload of a project team, including specialist groups.
- Host and chair internal project team meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Contribute to the professional development of individual team members, providing guidance and support.
- Monitor project expenditure and report to the project leader, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Ensure quality standards and technical accuracy are maintained throughout the design process.
Requirements
- Excellent technical knowledge in electrical design engineering, with a thorough understanding of building services engineering and interdisciplinary design.
- Previous consultancy experience, with a strong appreciation for the importance of complementary specialisms such as acoustics, fire engineering, and computer modeling.
- Able to lead small to medium-sized projects and take a brief from the project lead on large projects, delivering and controlling tasks required.
- Responsible for the quality of outputs, with a strong focus on client needs and ability to face clients.
- Able to identify when outsourcing is required, such as design and CAD work, and understand and identify resource needs.
- Mentor and supervise junior members of staff, with a strong commitment to professional development.
- Ideal candidate will be a Chartered engineer or working towards.
