About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Bristol. As a key member of our Data Centre and Mission Critical sector, you will be responsible for delivering designs and supporting projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work primarily on Data Centre and Mission Critical sector projects
  • Lead the team in developing initial strategic concepts for projects, ensuring solutions meet brief and regulatory standards
  • Manage and prioritise workload of project team, including specialist groups
  • Take responsibility for solid technical delivery in your work, either alone or as part of a team
  • Host and chair internal project team meetings
  • Contribute to professional development of individual team members and identify opportunities
  • Engage with junior support staff in their day-to-day activities and offer advice and guidance
  • Monitor fee expenditure, resource, and work delivered
  • Look at new ways of working and taking time out for innovation and research
  • Create and maintain a high reputation within the industry
About You

We are looking for a candidate with relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering and equivalent qualifications. Ideally, you will have an industry-recognised membership such as CIBSE/IMECHE/ASHRAE/Uptime Institute.

You should have excellent technical knowledge in your primary discipline and a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process.

You will have experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment, leading, motivating, and supervising more junior engineers.

With good interpersonal and communication skills, you will have proven ability in negotiating positive outcomes, resource planning, motivation, and management.
