Commercial Underwriter SME Job Description

Lawes Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Commercial Underwriter to join their team in Bolton. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SME level cases and excellent negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite various lines of commercial insurance across the SME arena
  • Develop and deliver profitable growth
  • Monitor the overall performance of your book
  • Build and maintain relationships with brokers UK wide
  • Offer underwriting support across the business where needed
  • Assist lower level underwriters on a technical basis
Requirements:
  • Commercial underwriting experience is essential - min 2 years
  • Good understanding of SME level cases
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Excellent relationship management
  • Excellent communication skills
