Job Title: Part Time Assistant Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an accounts clerk looking to progress into an Assistant Accountant role.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Finance Director with month-end close processes, performing balance sheet and bank reconciliations, and assisting with stock management activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations with high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Assist the Finance Director with month-end close processes, ensuring timely completion and accuracy
  • Support stock management activities, including inventory tracking and reporting
  • Provide holiday cover for transactional finance functions, ensuring seamless continuity
  • Handle ad hoc finance tasks as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an accounts clerk or Assistant Accountant in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and deliver work with precision and accuracy
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and proactive in your approach to work, with a strong initiative to suggest and implement process improvements
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident with IT systems, with a willingness to learn new software and processes, and proficient in Excel
