Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Strategic Financial Leader to join our team at Robertson Bell. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for leading the finance team, ensuring robust financial management and sustainability to support our charitable objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies that support the organisation's vision, including treasury management and long-term cashflow strategies to maximise returns.
  • Financial Leadership: Lead and work with senior management to create and maintain financial and cost models to support strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Decision Support: Develop high-level models to support strategic and operational decision-making, including assessment of financial sustainability and monthly reporting to funders.
  • Team Development: Continue to develop and transition the finance team from a transactional focus to one providing forward-looking information.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all legal entities comply with relevant legislation and prepare statutory accounts, corporation tax, VAT, Charity Commission, and other statutory financial returns as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Professional Qualification: Professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualified experience in financial and operational management.
  • Senior Finance Experience: Proven experience at a senior level in a finance role with responsibility across the entire finance function, including hands-on experience in delivering business partnering.
  • Legislative Knowledge: Knowledge of the legislative, tax, and regulatory framework of companies, ideally in the not-for-profit sector.
  • External Audit: Leading an end-to-end external audit process.
  • Financial Procedures: Developing/improving and implementing financial procedures and controls.
Location and Salary

The position will be based at Wembley Stadium, with occasional travel required. The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
