Job Title: Medicine and Oncology Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Medicine and Oncology Nurse to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner within the Acute Oncology Service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient-centred clinical care, encompassing advanced clinical assessment, history taking, examination, and diagnosis.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patients receive the right care at the right time.
  • Monitor the impact of the Acute Oncology Service, using key metrics such as length of stay, and work with the Lead Acute Oncology Clinician to ensure the service meets quality standards.
  • Provide expert clinical practice, management, leadership, education, research, audit, and professional activities.
  • Support the provision of telephone triage advice for patients and health professionals with complications of their systemic anti-cancer treatment.
  • Continually review and audit pathways of care, working as part of the ambulatory clinic for patients requiring review post ED attendance.
  • Act as a resource for colleagues within the Trust and those from other hospital Trusts.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience at a senior level (Band 7 or above) in cancer or acute care.
  • Experience in service development and implementation of change.
  • Publication in healthcare journals.
