Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Freight Operations Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for freight invoice checking and approval, USMCA Certificate completion, dispatching local drivers, negotiating transportation rates with vendors, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Check and approve freight invoices
  • Complete USMCA Certificates of Origin, AALA certificates, Cafe Content Breakdown, and Manufacturer's Affidavit for Co-Ex-Tec customers
  • Dispatch local drivers and arrange pickups of various types, including couriers, LTL, TL, and local cartage
  • Negotiate discounts and special rates with carriers and customs brokers
  • Negotiate transportation rates with vendors/freight carriers
  • Familiarize yourself with freight/transportation business, USMCA agreement, and its impact on the automotive industry
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Sound computer skills, including knowledge of software currently in use
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing, an asset
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
