Exciting Opportunity in Emea Tax Department

We are seeking a highly skilled VAT and Compliance Specialist to join our Emea Tax Department, primarily supporting the Emea region but with responsibility for providing indirect tax advice globally. This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional who can leverage their technical expertise to drive compliance, minimize liabilities, and foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will report to the Emea Head of Tax and collaborate closely with the Corporate Tax team in London, Belgium, and the US, as well as central and regional Finance teams. Key responsibilities include:
  • Partnering with outsourced tax compliance providers and regional Finance teams to manage indirect tax compliance in the Emea region, including monitoring deliverables, driving automation, and standardizing VAT compliance processes.
  • Providing VAT advice on ad-hoc queries regarding new products, client and vendor contracts, and discreet projects with a risk management and commercial focus.
  • Ensuring the business stays up-to-date with changes in VAT legislation and new indirect tax regimes through attendance at industry forums and developing strong relationships with external advisors.
  • Collaborating with the Emea Banking and Asset Management Commercial teams to evaluate business change initiatives and advise on regional VAT implications.

About You:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • A qualified ACA/ACCA/CTA (or equivalent) degree.
  • Proven tax experience in a large group environment or advisory firm.
  • Strong UK VAT technical background, some EU VAT knowledge, and system automation experience gained ideally in the financial services sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
