This position is more than a coaching job; it's a career opportunity. As an Athletics Coach Lead, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality athletic and multi-skill coaching sessions to children aged 3-13 years old.

Your duties will include:

  • Implementing good practices, progression, and teaching points to enhance participant experience
  • Ensuring the safety and control of participants within coaching sessions, adhering to relevant regulations and centre operations
  • Responding effectively to diverse situations, including teaching pupils of different ages, stages, levels, and abilities
  • Encouraging participants to enroll in further courses and short programs
  • Assisting with new enrollments and re-enrollments as required by the General Manager
  • Completing relevant administrative procedures, including registers, lesson plans, individual records of achievement, and movement forms
  • Recording and completing relevant awards in line with the UKA Awards scheme, ensuring required levels are achieved

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum level of Assistant Coach or UKA Level 2 Athletics Coach
  • A good understanding of the characteristics and qualities expected from coaching sessions
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and other relevant leisure centre operations
  • An understanding of Child Protection Policy, Equal Opportunities Policy, and Revenue Protection
  • Familiarity with the UKA Academy Award system and Sports Hall events
