About the Role
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team as a Support Worker. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient environment that supports the delivery of high-quality care to critically-ill paediatric patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised ward environment, including tidiness and cleanliness, stock management, quality assurance, and waste management.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to understand their needs and provide support accordingly.
- Interact professionally and courteously with patients and families on PICU, and respond to enquiries and address concerns to uphold a positive and welcoming atmosphere on the unit.
Person Specification
- Evidence of numeracy, literacy, and IT skills, minimum of national level 2/GCSE A-C grade or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of people, work as a team member, work under own initiative, and work under challenging conditions.
