About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. As a key member of our Clinical Pharmacy Team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient-focused clinical pharmacy services for patients within the Major Trauma and Trauma & Orthopaedic service lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement clinical pharmacy services to support the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Provide specialist clinical pharmacy advice to clinical specialties and demonstrate a high level of clinical effectiveness.
  • Work closely with the Care Group Lead Pharmacist and Associate Chief Pharmacist for Clinical Services to develop and implement clinical pharmacy policies and procedures.
  • Lead and coordinate the clinical pharmacy team, including junior pharmacists and technicians, to ensure the provision of a safe, effective, and efficient clinical pharmacy service.
  • Engage with Quality Improvement and practice research to drive service development and improvement.
Person Specification
  • Master's Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
  • Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Certificate.
  • Non-medical prescriber or willingness to undertake this when requested.
  • Excellent proven knowledge of clinical pharmacy and drug use in the area of major trauma and orthopaedics.
  • Demonstrable experience in a range of clinical specialties.
  • Proven skills in effective leadership, successful communication, negotiating, persuasion, and influencing.
