Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our finance and operations team at The Harington Scheme Limited.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving excellence in finance processes and procedures, HR, governance, operations, property, and IT. They will be responsible for leading and developing the financial strategy aligned with our vision, mission, and long-term objectives.

  • Present clear, insightful financial and other reports and analysis to the Board of Trustees, supporting informed decision making
  • Oversee governance, risk, and compliance processes
  • Drive excellence and efficiency across finance, HR, governance, operations, property, and IT
  • Support the development and implementation of the strategic plan and annual operations plan and budget
  • Manage commercial businesses, including two charity shops and Harington Gardeners, ensuring they are financially viable
  • Oversee fundraising to secure income from trusts, foundations, individual donors, and community fundraising

Key qualifications include a degree-level or equivalent qualification, finance or accounting qualification, and experience as a successful accountant or finance professional within a medium-sized organisation, charity, or non-profit. The ideal candidate will have a results-proven track record of achieving objectives and experience of overseeing or managing finances in an organisation with a minimum annual income of £1 million.
