Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Maintenance Officer to join our team at Haslington Primary Academy and Nursery. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the school building and its grounds to a high standard, ensuring a clean and safe environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain the security of the premises and its contents, including being a registered key holder.
  2. Undertake minor repairs, maintenance work, and porterage duties.
  3. Ensure that the lighting and heating systems are in good working condition.
  4. Work closely with the site team to ensure the school is kept clean.
  5. Purchase site-related maintenance materials, requiring the use of a personal vehicle for transportation.
  6. Collaborate with the Site Manager/Health and Safety Manager to support project developments, general repair, and maintenance.
  7. Respond to out-of-hours emergency call-outs as necessary to provide effective security arrangements.
Requirements
  1. Be conscientious and trustworthy.
  2. Demonstrate outstanding attention to detail.
  3. Have the ability to work independently, but also as part of a team.
  4. Have the ability to act on their own initiative.
  5. Ideally have relevant experience in working in a facilities maintenance role.
  6. Have a good sense of humour and a hardworking ethos.
  7. Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding children and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
