Prosthetic Rehabilitation Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Prosthetic Rehabilitation Assistant to join our dynamic team at Preston Specialist Mobility Rehabilitation Centre (SMRC). As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality treatment and care to patients with amputations or limb deficiencies.
Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesAs a Prosthetic Rehabilitation Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting and supporting the Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine in the safe and effective management of prosthetic patients.
- Coordinating care through appropriate professional practice, delegation, and supervision of duties carried out by junior staff.
- Ensuring appropriate prescription and treatment is delivered based on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care to meet patient needs in accordance with agreed local and national standards, evidence-based guidelines, and decision-making.
- Proactively managing risk and maintaining patient safety, conforming to health, safety, and security legislation, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Setting, monitoring, and maintaining standards of treatment/provision to improve the patient experience and outcome of care.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- BSc (Hons) in Prosthetics and Orthotics or historical equivalent.
- HCPC Registration.
- A good knowledge of prosthetic theory, prescription, manufacture, and delivery.
- Experience and knowledge of current prosthetic practice, including interactions between Allied Health Professionals and Medical Consultants in rehabilitation.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance Systems.
