Senior Azure Data Engineer

Join Datatech Analytics, a leading recruitment agency in the field of analytics, as a Senior Azure Data Engineer. This role is a key part of our digital transformation program, focusing on developing enterprise-grade data engineering services.

As a Senior Azure Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying data ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Apache Spark, and other technologies. You will ensure that all data pipelines are developed to a high standard, adopting best practice engineering principles such as domain-driven design, test-driven development, and clear separation of concerns.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Shaping the development and data engineering capabilities, influencing the direction of the team, and adopting best practices.
  • Becoming an SME on the design, development, and deployment of data ETL pipelines.
  • Maintaining an effective backlog to ensure that engineering services are iteratively and incrementally developed in line with business needs and priorities.
  • Helping to shape the overall strategic data and analytical capabilities, adopting best practices, and continuously improving data engineering standards across the team.
  • Managing key internal and external relationships, including business end-users, IT, Risk & Compliance, and data services providers.

Requirements include:

  • Proven track record of developing data pipelines and products using Azure, Synapse, Apache Spark, Data Factory, DevOps, Snowflake, Databricks, and Fabric.
  • High level of coding proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Good level of experience of Data Modelling and BI solutions.
  • Experience of Machine Learning Engineering and CRM are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and help develop the data strategy, while being 'hands-on'.

Candidates must have unrestricted, existing, and future right to live and work in the UK.
