Microsoft SQL Server DBA Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft SQL Server DBA to join our team in London. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support and maintenance for our Microsoft SQL Server infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions for Microsoft SQL Server
  • Provide expert-level support for SQL Server administration, including backup and recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with developers to design and implement database solutions for core platform initiatives
  • Participate in key periodic operations tasks, including high availability and disaster recovery testing, operating system and database patching, and database upgrades and migrations
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all new database builds, redevelopments, and enhancements

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server High Availability technologies, including Windows Clustering, Availability Groups, and Distributed Availability Groups
  • Experience with enterprise-scale mission-critical SQL Server implementations, VLDB, and multiple databases with Availability Groups
  • Ability to troubleshoot SQL Server Database Engine and implement and troubleshoot SQL Server High Availability groups
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English
  • Live and transferrable Enhanced DV clearance
