At Iron Mountain, we're committed to preserving and protecting our customers' valuable assets. We're seeking an experienced Warehouse Operative to join our team in Lutterworth, where you'll play a critical role in ensuring smooth and uninterrupted work in our operations department.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Timely searches of boxes and pallet contents at the addresses indicated on the request sheet, depending on the status of the requests.
  • Execute all requests on the request sheet in order and to the end.
  • Inform the storage manager in writing if a box is not found at the specified address or if a load is not found in the specified box.
  • Place removed cases neatly on a pallet in the designated place, with permission from the direct manager.
  • Return boxes and cases on time, strictly adhering to the rack address specified on the return sheet.
  • Inform the direct manager if it's not possible to return a box or load due to barcode issues or other reasons.
  • Carry out the loading of newly arrived boxes with documents, assigning barcodes to racks using data loggers.
  • Coordinate with the immediate supervisor to determine which boxes will be lifted and how many.
  • Perform all duties using data loggers (scanners), with approval from the immediate supervisor for exceptions.
  • Register with the user code assigned by the direct manager before starting work with the data logger.
  • Inform the immediate supervisor about boxes and loads that are out of place, damaged, or torn in the storage room.
  • Fasten safety belts, work shoes, and a vest before starting work with the electric forklift.
  • Inform the immediate supervisor if the battery runs out or the electric forklift breaks down.
  • Ensure client property is properly protected according to client specifications.
  • Follow SOP processes at all times.
  • Take responsibility for the quality of work performed.
  • Meet operations department KPIs and other established objectives.
  • Adhere to Iron Mountain's policies, processes, and instructions in accordance with global standards and quality management systems (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015).
  • Demonstrate safe and efficient work practices and report unsafe conditions or behavior to the immediate supervisor.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Electric forklift license/certificate, advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Positive and 'can-do' attitude.
  • Drive an electric forklift and use it properly, with electric forklift driver's rights.
  • Similar work experience in the position of an electric forklift driver or in the field of storage, logistics.
