Job Description

Resourcing Group is seeking a highly skilled Project Buyer / Assistant to join our team in the oil and gas / renewables sector. This is a full-time role that requires strong procurement and supply chain management skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, planning, and purchasing requirements for the Project department. This will involve liaising with multiple Project Managers, collating and addressing their procurement needs, and centralising purchasing from across various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Project Managers to understand their procurement needs and develop strategies to meet them.
  • Collaborate with Operations to ensure internal schedules are maintained and purchasing is optimised.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure best value for equipment purchased.
  • Lead commercial and technical negotiations with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
  • Monitor supplier performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist Project Managers to mitigate project risk and ensure timely delivery.
  • Support cost control, cash flow, and forecasting activities.
  • Responsible for scheduling and expediting, including tracking and managing changes and amendments.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
  • Significant experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Purchasing experience in a similar industry.

Desirable Skills:

  • SAGE 50 experience.
