About the Role

This is a key and fast-paced position within our busy community CAMHS team, offering the opportunity to work with children and young people experiencing moderate to severe mental illness.

As a qualified professional, you will be responsible for undertaking initial assessments, contributing to case formulation and care planning, and providing treatment alongside a multidisciplinary team.

The post holder will have the chance to co-facilitate groups and work with external agencies, such as social care and education, to offer evidence-based care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Initial assessment of children and young people referred to the service
  • Ongoing direct intervention to address complex emotional needs
  • Participating in multi-disciplinary case formulation to ensure effective patient-centred care
  • Delivering group interventions and representing CAMHS in professional forums
  • Working within legal and policy frameworks to ensure safeguarding and risk management are implemented
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A registered professional qualification in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, or another discipline
  • NMC, HPC, or Social Work England registration
  • Post-basic courses and study days
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) and a professional portfolio
  • Post-qualification experience working with individuals with mental health problems
  • Understanding and contribution to clinical governance agendas
  • Previous experience in similar roles and risk assessment expertise
